The Art of Making a Designer Handbag: Behind the Scenes

Behind the scenes of Hybricá's in-house handbag crafting process in India

Every designer handbag begins long before the first stitch. It’s not just an accessory — it’s a story brought to life through vision, craftsmanship, and precision. Here’s an inside look at how we create our handbags, step by step — entirely in-house.

Mood Boards & Inspiration

Every collection starts with a mood board — a curated visual language that defines the season’s palette, texture, and silhouette direction. This is where the creative vision takes shape.

Initial Sketches & 3D Design

Our designers translate inspiration into detailed sketches, then into 3D renders. This allows us to evaluate proportion, structure, and hardware placement before a single piece of material is cut.

Colour Palette & Material Sourcing

We select our vegan leather finishes — smooth, pebbled, or croc-embossed — and pair them with hardware and lining that complement the overall aesthetic. Every material is chosen with longevity and luxury in mind.

Precision Cutting & Assembly

Panels are cut with precision tools to exact measurements. Our craftspeople then sew, assemble, and edge-paint each bag by hand — a process that demands skill, patience, and an eye for detail.

Quality Control & Photography

Before any bag is packed, it passes through a rigorous quality check. Only then does it move to our editorial photography stage — where each piece is styled and shot to reflect the quiet luxury it embodies.

The Finished Bag

The result is a structured, refined handbag built to last. Shop the Hybricá Classique and own a piece of this process.
